We love Oishii!!! It is the best hibachi restaurant in our experience on the east side of Nashville. The food is excellent, portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and the staff are friendly and fast. We go so often, the staff there know our names and standard orders! I recommend the mochi ice cream as a sweet treat. It's not anything wildly unusual, but I haven't seen it anywhere else in Hermitage/Mt Juliet.

This place has gone downhill, not clean at all, tables are sticky, bathrooms dirty, and entry way needs to be vacummed and dusted. Also if I am paying a 18-20 premium for hibachi to watch the chef, then I expect it to be like before with the interaction. Our chef just cooked, didn't talk, did no tricks, and left right after he got done. This place use to be great with chefs that took time out to make sure you were having a good time and entertaining the customers. There are too many other hibachi places that give better service, for them to be slacking.

I normally don't give one star (perhaps first time). First, the portions for hibachi dinners were small with same average price as other hibachi restaurants. The chef put in little effort of a show, even though we were the first ones of the night. The green tea came out luke warm, without tea bag and tasted horrible. This tells me it was sitting in a pot for awhile. The bathroom had the paper towel roll on a table next to sink (dispenser broken) and it obviously fell on the dirty floor more than once as it has dirt on the sides and top of roll. The soap dispenser was broken as wall, but they had a retail soap bottle at least. Across the "hall" from the bathroom were empty boxes stacked up to the ceiling. I would recommend any of the other hibachi restaurants in Mt. Juliet over this one.

There is one thing common with Japanese cuisine, hibachi. However, part of what you pay for when you go to a restaurant like such is a chef who makes your meal entertaining and worth while. This was my first visit, and will not be my last. Food was good but Experience was well worth it!

Definitely a pearl in the area for cooked meal day dining. Adjacent to publix which makes it an excellent choice for shop and dine trip. The restaurant offers take-out service or dine in. It would be great if they could provide an online menu and online ordering option as well.
